Hello Harry Potter fans-

I’m sorry if this isn’t allowed, please feel free to delete it if it is. I tried asking months ago and didn’t get much of a response either way, so I’m just going for it. I’m doing a presentation in a Children’s Literature class on the fandom of Harry Potter (yay college professors) and I was wondering if anyone wanted to throw in their two-cents (or if you have friends that would). I want to try to present both JKR’s side as well as the fan’s on wheither or not it should be allowed (I’m sure some of you remember how she was trying to sue people over it in the early days). I’m particularly interested in getting information on the whole lj ban-fest-thing, why you choose this particular fandom, how you contribute to it (such as art, comics, fics, videos, etc.), any contests that you run/won/participated in, and why you choose to do the last two. Other information is fine as well. Also, if you have any interesting newspaper or magazine articles, research studies, or court case records (double points if you were the one in court!) on this subject I would be eternally grateful.

Anything you can give me would be great! Please contact me at fox_demon_arukas@yahoo.com with all your questions and comments. If contributing at all please include your name &/or alias to that I can properly credit you in my bibliography. The presentation is due on December 3rd, but I would like to get it done before thanksgiving so that I can enjoy my break. If the moderators would like a copy of the powerpoint presentation/outline as proof that this was a real project or anything, I’ll be more than happy to provide it.

Thank you for your time,
~NiK Potase
